Computer Requirements: We recommend at least a 1 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM and Windows 7 or newer (Windows 7 through 10, but not RT) with an available USB 2.0 (or higher) port. Slower computers or Windows 2000, XP, and Vista may work but are not officially supported. Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 on a machine robust enough to support the respective operating system are also fine. Windows running inside a Virtual Machine (for example on a Mac) is not supported.
Extending this Interface: The supplied 6-ft cable is suitable for most laptops. USB standards do not allow for passive extension cords therefore please use the supplied cable only.

No. Vehicles with SFD 2.0 locks (common in Audi, VW, Skoda models produced after 2020) restrict access to critical modules like the engine, ABS, and central electrics. The VCDS HEX V2 cannot bypass SFD 2.0 protection. You will need authorization tokens from the manufacturer or dealership to modify locked modules.
Which Indian vehicles are affected by SFD 2.0 locks?
For India:
– Locally produced cars (March 2024 onwards): SFD 2.0 locks apply to modules like engine, ABS, steering wheel, and central electrics.
– CBU (Completely Built Units) (2020 onwards): Models like Skoda Octavia/Superb, VW Passat/Tiguan, and Audi T-Roc have SFD locks since 2020.
What is SFD 2.0?
SFD 2.0 (Vehicle Diagnostic Protection) is a security system by Volkswagen Group that restricts access to critical modules (engine, ABS, central electrics) to prevent unauthorized modifications. It requires a special token from the manufacturer or dealership to unlock.
Can I use VCDS HEX V2 to code features on my 2023 Volkswagen Virtus/Skoda Kushaq?
Yes you can use the cable on Volkswagen Polo, Vento, Ameo, Virtus, Taigun Skoda Rapid, Slavia, Kushaq. For locally produced cars (March 2024 onwards), coding access to critical modules is restricted. Non-critical modules (e.g., interior lighting) may still be accessible.
How do I check if my car has SFD 2.0 locks?
Connect the VCDS HEX V2 to your vehicle. If critical modules like the engine or ABS show “Security Access Required” or “SFD Protected,” your car has SFD 2.0 locks. Confirm your vehicle’s production date and model type (CBU or local) for further clarity.
