What is the difference between the four plate surface options?
The Ultra-Cold Grip plate features microporous polymer coatings for low-temperature PLA/PETG printing (30°C–50°C) without glue. The Rainbow Confetti PEF + Galaxy PEY plate imprints vibrant rainbow confetti prisms on one side and a starry galaxy cosmos on the other. The Carbon Fiber PET + Diamond PEO plate creates specular carbon fiber weave or diamond facet patterns. The Carbon Fiber PET + Textured PEI plate provides a smooth decorative carbon finish on one side and a heavy-duty rough PEI powder coating on the other for high-temperature engineering filaments like ABS, ASA, and Nylon.
How do holographic PEF, PEY, PEO, and PET patterns transfer to the 3D print?
The optical film layers are micro-embossed with microscopic diffraction gratings. As molten thermoplastic cools against the surface, it conforms to these micro-facets, permanently imprinting the geometric carbon fiber weave, starry galaxy, or rainbow confetti diffraction patterns directly onto the bottom of your print without stickers or secondary coatings.
What print bed temperatures are recommended for PEF and PEY surfaces?
For Rainbow Confetti PEF and Galaxy PEY surfaces, we recommend a bed temperature of 60°C–65°C for standard PLA and 70°C–80°C for PETG. Ensure the bed is thoroughly cleaned with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) before printing.
How do I care for and clean these build surfaces?
Always allow the build plate to cool completely to room temperature before removing prints; parts will naturally release or pop off with a slight flex. Clean surfaces regularly with warm water and mild dish soap to wash away oils, or wipe down with 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA). Avoid using acetone or sharp metal scrapers on holographic or cold polymer surfaces.
